Full-Time Lower School Principal
Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School
The Principal is the instructional leader of the Lower School and has primary responsibility for providing an outstanding Jewish and general studies education for its students in an environment that celebrates Jewish identity, community, and values. The Principal will lead an excellent faculty and, as part of the school-wide leadership team, participate in strategic planning, policy setting, budgeting, and institutional advancement, ensuring excellence in curriculum, teaching, and learning. With an enrollment of approximately 500 students K- 6, the Lower School occupies its own facility with a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure, two gymnasiums, art studio, cafeteria, and a Beit Midrash on a 25 acre campus.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the Lower School of a dynamic Jewish community day school and to be an integral member of a new head of school’s administrative team.
Reporting to the Head of School, he/she will be an experienced educator, capable of leading a division within a large, complex school and advancing the School’s commitment to providing a rigorous, inspiring, and supportive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to a pluralistic Jewish learning community, have a demonstrated ability to connect with students on an academic and social/emotional level as well as the ability to build and maintain the commitment and enthusiasm of both students and faculty.
