The Amos and Celia Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School is a K-8 community Jewish Day School, open to all families who want to pursue an excellent secular and Jewish education for their children.
The School is seeking a full-time Middle School Hebrew and Jewish Studies Teacher for the 2016-2017 academic year.
The ideal candidate will be a creative, charismatic educator with expertise in a broad range of Judaic Studies topics. He/she should have a record of creating strong relationships with students and be comfortable teaching in a pluralistic environment that emphasizes Jewish identity development and experiential education techniques.
- Teaching Hebrew Language and Jewish Studies (Bible, Rabbinics and Jewish History) for middle school age students (grades 6-8)
- Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development
- Participating in planning Judaic programs and celebrations in the School
Requirements: BA in Jewish Studies or Hebrew Language required, MA, doctorate, or rabbinic ordination preferred; successful experience teaching courses in Hebrew or Jewish Studies to students in grades 6-8. Experience in differentiated instruction, technology integration and working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
