Full-Time Technical Support Manager
Job Description
MAIN FUNCTIONS: Manages the help desk, technical and telecommunications resources of the IT and Telecommunications department. Responsible for ensuring the availability and continuity of data and information technology services throughout the organization. Makes hardware and software recommendations to meet current and future requirements including the ability to negotiate with vendors.
Ensures hardware, network equipment and technical software are current. Support the VP of Information Technology as part of the IS management team. Perform staff evaluations and participate in hospital management function. Assist in the development of requisite policies and procedures for the organization and department.
Reports to: Information Services Director — All levels of hospital personnel; physicians
Supervises: Telecommunications, Help Desk, and Technical Support Team
Experience: 5 – 7 years hospital operations and/or IT management environment. Broad knowledge of current information systems & data communications technologies. Extensive knowledge and experience with network infrastructure, hardware, telecommunications and various operating systems.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Health Related field. Hospital operations experience a plus. Information Technology experience should span through software application and implementation fields.
